BRIDGING THE GAP FOR PEOPLE WITH FOOD RESTRICTIONS – SAFE FOOD
The project “Bridging the gap for people with food restrictions – Safe Food” received a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway in the amount of € 649 932 through EEA Grants. The project was co-financed in the amount of 114 694 € from the state budget of the Slovak Republic. The aim of the project is to bring an innovative approach to improve the lives of people with food allergies or intolerances through the development of a tailor-made solution (non-allergenic food boxes without cow’s milk/casein, eggs, gluten, soya, peanuts, tree nuts, rice, sulphites and shellfish) supported by a mobile application (SafeFood APP) and regular delivery by low emission vehicles.

The EEA Grants represent Iceland’s,
Liechtenstein’s and Norway’s contribution to a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.
They have two main objectives: reducing economic and social disparities in Europe and strengthening the relationship between the contributing countries and the 15 EU countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics. The three contributing countries cooperate closely with the EU through the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement. As donors, they have successively provided €3.3 billion through grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. Granty EHP na obdobie 2014 – 2021 dosahujú 1,55 miliardy eur.
The priorities for this period are:
1. Innovation, research, education and competitiveness
2. Social inclusion, youth employment and poverty eradication
3. Environment, energy, climate change and low carbon economy
4. Culture, civil society, good governance and fundamental rights
5. Justice and Home Affairs The EEA grants are funded jointly by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway according to their GDP.
